Log Update
02/01/2012 - Wow! This marks the end of the first chapter of Ima to Eien ni: Now and Forever! I'm really looking forward to making the second chapter where Emmy is a tad more focused on her goal. It's off to the main part of Seiryoku's city as Emmy and Mille look for the ATA agent.
After picking up Final Fantasy XIII-2: Collector's Edition from Best Buy, I find myself thinking about how disappointing collector's editions have been at times. In this case, I adore the box everything comes in, and it's very similar to the Gears of War 2 collector's case but with a single thick box holding all the contents in a hard slip case. The 4 disc original soundtrack is quite nice but the art book is a total joke just like the book that tells the story between the two games. When I pick up a collector's edition, I really want an art book and a soundtrack is nice but I'm so backlogged on trance radio shows that I don't have any intention to listen to a videogame soundtrack anytime soon. The Dark Souls collector's edition was phenomenal, simply because pre-purchasing the game made it the special edition with the art book and steel case. That's actually the reason I decided to buy that game as I don't know if I'll ever finish the original Demon's Souls. It's hard to sit down and get in the kind of mood I need to be in to play a kind of ruthless and unforgiving game like that... speaking of which, I still need to finish Ninja Gaiden 2 at some point... haha. Gears of War 3 was another disappointment. Hell, the plastic covering the cog gear was ripped on the copy I picked up so I simply removed the circular plastic. If I'd decided to spend another $70 then I would have gotten an art book... something which should have come with the collector's edition instead of the Epic edition as the extras for the collector's version were paltry and in no way worth the $20 it cost over the standard version of the game. My favorite in recent history would have to be Arkham City's special edition. That's the kind of art book I thought I was getting with Final Fantasy XIII-2 instead of the excuse of a collector's edition which they included. Now, aside from the disappointment of the version of the game that I picked up, this sequel has actually been very entertaining so far.
Until next time when chapter 2 begins and I type about more miscellaneous crap!
